Durante la lactancia, hay un problema com\u00fan que pone en peligro la supervivencia de los corderos y cabritos: la enfermedad respiratoria. Esta patolog\u00eda es una gran preocupaci\u00f3n en todas las explotaciones. \u00bfCu\u00e1les son los puntos clave para su prevenci\u00f3n?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Una gran preocupaci\u00f3n<\/h2>\n

A partir de los 18 d\u00edas de vida aproximadamente, la primera causa de mortalidad<\/strong> de corderos y cabritos es el complejo respiratorio ovino (CRO)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

El CRO es un problema reemergente en muchas zonas, debido a la regulaci\u00f3n del uso de antibi\u00f3ticos<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

La sintomatolog\u00eda<\/strong> que podemos ver en animales afectados incluye tos, estornudos, dificultad para respirar, fiebre, secreci\u00f3n nasal y ocular y p\u00e9rdida de condici\u00f3n corporal.<\/p>\n

\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 y c\u00f3mo se producen los problemas respiratorios?<\/h2>\n

Varias bacterias est\u00e1n involucradas en el CRO, pero M. haemolytica<\/strong><\/em> es el pat\u00f3geno principal en la mayor parte de los casos que encontramos.<\/p>\n

M. haemolytica, el principal pat\u00f3geno del CRO, es una bacteria oportunista<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

M. haemolytica<\/em> forma parte de la flora de las v\u00edas respiratorias altas<\/strong> del animal. Cuando se produce una situaci\u00f3n de estr\u00e9s<\/strong> que afecta al sistema inmunitario, se desencadena la proliferaci\u00f3n y migraci\u00f3n<\/strong> de la bacteria al pulm\u00f3n.
\nCuando esto ocurre, M. haemolytica<\/em> empieza a liberar la leucotoxina<\/strong>, que es la causante real de la enfermedad.<\/p>\n

La leucotoxina provoca necrosis en el tejido pulmonar, generando las lesiones<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00bfC\u00f3mo podemos prevenirlo y\/o controlarlo?<\/h2>\n

Minimizar factores de riesgo: <\/strong><\/p>\n

– Higiene: <\/strong>limpiar y desinfectar correctamente los biberones tetinas y tubos de la m\u00e1quina nodriza.<\/p>\n

– Densidad: <\/strong>es preferible alojar los animales en grupos reducidos<\/p>\n

– temperatura: <\/strong>la temperatura de confort en animales j\u00f3venes es superior a la de adultos. Usar focos si es necesario.<\/p>\n

– Ventilaci\u00f3n: <\/strong>asegurar la renovaci\u00f3n del aire, pero evitar corrientes.<\/p>\n

– Estr\u00e9s: <\/strong>evitar factores estresantes como cambios de grupos o corral, transportes, frio\/calor, pr\u00e1cticas como descornado, otras enfermedades\u2026<\/p>\n

Calostro<\/strong><\/a>: Aparte de inmunoglobulinas, tambi\u00e9n aporta nutrientes<\/strong> imprescindibles para los primeros d\u00edas de vida. Darlo con la cantidad y calidad<\/strong> adecuada.<\/p>\n

Vacunaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/a>: La vacuna PASTERBACT\u00ae<\/strong><\/a>, se pueden administrar a edades muy tempranas, para proteger los animales en la etapa m\u00e1s vulnerable. Para asegurarnos de la m\u00e1xima protecci\u00f3n es necesario vacunar animales sanos<\/strong>, por lo que es importante controlar otras enfermedades concurrentes<\/strong>, como virus o par\u00e1sitos, y una nutrici\u00f3n<\/strong> adecuada.<\/p>\n

Conclusiones<\/h2>\n

El CRO<\/strong> es una gran preocupaci\u00f3n durante la lactancia, pero aplicando las medidas preventivas espec\u00edficas<\/strong><\/a>, podemos reducir su incidencia e impacto.<\/p>\n

El CRO no es solo importante por su alta mortalidad, sino tambi\u00e9n por las p\u00e9rdidas indirectas por retraso en el crecimiento.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
