Dans cet article, nous d\u00e9mystifions les mythes sur les avortements chez les petits ruminants.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Mythe n\u00b0 1 : \u00ab Si une brebis avorte, ce n\u2019est pas grave, c\u2019est un cas isol\u00e9. \u00bb<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>R\u00e9alit\u00e9 :<\/strong><\/span> Il est vrai qu\u2019un certain pourcentage de pertes reproductives (&lt; 5 %) est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme normal, mais les cas d\u2019avortements doivent toujours nous alerter et un <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aboutsmallruminants.com\/fr\/avortements-petits-ruminants-importance-diagnostic-techniques\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">diagnostic approfondi<\/a><\/strong> doit \u00eatre effectu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p><em>C. abortus<\/em> se manifeste g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement sous forme d\u2019<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aboutsmallruminants.com\/fr\/fausses-couches-exploitation-brebis-chevres\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00e9pid\u00e9mies<\/a><\/strong>, mais peut \u00e9galement provoquer des avortements sporadiques dans des troupeaux end\u00e9miques.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Mythe n\u00b0 2 : \u00ab Les avortements ne se produisent que dans les grands troupeaux. \u00bb<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>R\u00e9alit\u00e9 :<\/strong><\/span> Tous les troupeaux sont menac\u00e9s. L\u2019introduction d\u2019un seul animal porteur de <em>C. abortus<\/em> dans le troupeau peut suffire \u00e0 d\u00e9clencher une \u00e9pid\u00e9mie. L\u2019impact de l\u2019infection d\u00e9pendra des mesures de gestion, de bios\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de pr\u00e9vention mises en \u0153uvre.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 730px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aboutsmallruminants.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Imagen-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"730\" height=\"473\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fig. 1. Tous les troupeaux sont expos\u00e9s au risque d&rsquo;infection ; il est donc imp\u00e9ratif de les prot\u00e9ger.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>Mythe n\u00b0 3 : \u00ab Si je ne vois pas de sympt\u00f4mes chez les brebis, il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019infection. \u00bb<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>R\u00e9alit\u00e9 :<\/strong><\/span> Les femelles infect\u00e9es par <em>C. abortus<\/em> restent asymptomatiques jusqu\u2019au moment de l\u2019avortement, en raison de l\u2019\u00e9tat latent de l\u2019agent pathog\u00e8ne. \u00c0 partir du 90\u1d49 jour de gestation, des changements hormonaux activent <em>Chlamydia<\/em>, lui permettant d\u2019envahir le placenta.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>L\u2019absence de sympt\u00f4mes visibles ne signifie pas que le troupeau est exempt d\u2019infection.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Mythe n\u00b0 4 : \u00ab Une fois infect\u00e9, le troupeau devient immunis\u00e9. \u00bb<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>R\u00e9alit\u00e9 :<\/strong><\/span> Les animaux infect\u00e9s qui avortent d\u00e9veloppent une r\u00e9ponse immunitaire contre l\u2019agent pathog\u00e8ne, mais cette immunit\u00e9 naturelle n\u2019est ni compl\u00e8te ni durable. Une fois infect\u00e9s, les animaux sont des <strong>porteurs chroniques<\/strong>, capables de <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aboutsmallruminants.com\/fr\/chlamydia-salmonella-transmission-controle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transmettre<\/a><\/strong> l\u2019infection.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Mythe n\u00b0 5 : \u00ab Les avortements n\u2019affectent que les animaux, les humains ne courent aucun risque. \u00bb<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>R\u00e9alit\u00e9 :<\/strong><\/span> <em>C. abortus<\/em> est un agent <strong>zoonotique<\/strong> et peut \u00eatre transmis des animaux aux humains. Le risque est particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9lev\u00e9 pour les <strong>femmes enceintes<\/strong>, qui peuvent souffrir de complications graves en cas de contact avec des animaux infect\u00e9s, placentas ou s\u00e9cr\u00e9tions.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Mythe n\u00b0 6 : \u00ab La vaccination n\u2019est pas efficace car les animaux ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9s. \u00bb<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>R\u00e9alit\u00e9 :<\/strong><\/span> Bien que les <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aboutsmallruminants.com\/fr\/vaccination-avortement-enzootique-ovin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vaccins<\/a><\/strong> soient un outil de pr\u00e9vention, leur utilisation est essentielle pour r\u00e9duire l\u2019ampleur des \u00e9pid\u00e9mies et prot\u00e9ger les animaux sensibles. M\u00eame dans les troupeaux infect\u00e9s par <em>C. abortus<\/em>, la vaccination contribue \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler la propagation de l\u2019agent pathog\u00e8ne et \u00e0 minimiser son impact sur la reproduction.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 675px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aboutsmallruminants.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Imagen-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"440\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fig. 2.
